ABL's Best Player, Dillard of New York Monday, July 29th, 1957 Tom Dillard is respected by most New York Empires fans for his no-frills style of play. The 36-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the American Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .600 average (9-for-15) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 3 runs scored. Thus far this season Dillard has hit .342 with 10 home runs, 49 RBIs and scored 44 times. |
