Wools Hits in 20 Straight Games

Larry Wools has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 26-year-old Washington Eagles third baseman extended his streak to 20 games, going 2-for-5 as Washington got the best of the Philadelphia Quakers at Quakers Stadium, 3-2.
"Larry has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Eagles manager Brandon Tucker said. Larry Wools grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, grounded out in the 7th and struck out in the 8th.
On the year, Wools has hit .355 with no home runs, 2 RBIs and scored 15 runs.
