Terry Ups Hit Streak to 20 Consecutive Games Sunday, August 21st, 1955 The hot bat of Habitants left fielder Willie Terry continues to churn out hit after hit, game after game. His consecutive-game hitting streak now numbers 20 games after he went 1-for-4 in today's 6-1 loss to the Emeralds at LaSalle Stadium. "I'm trying not to think about it much," he said later. "I don't want to mess with whatever zone I'm in." Willie Terry hit a solo-shot off Mike Gruber in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, flied out in the 6th and flied out in the 8th. This year Terry has hit 14 home runs and posted a .292 batting average. |
