Red-Hot Schar Cools Off Toronto Sunday, May 1st , 1977 In a seemingly effortless performance, Bob Schar of the Montreal Habitants shot down the Toronto Hurons, 9-0, on 6 hits. "Bob was just locating so well and using his pitches," Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate." Schar recorded 3 strikeouts and no walks in a strong outing. "When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Toronto manager Jim Burns said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him." Looking at his season stats, Schar has won 2 and lost 2, collecting 19 strikeouts and 10 walks in 37 innings with a 2.19 ERA.
