New York CL Wayne Houston Injured Saturday, May 14th , 1977 Wayne Houston of the New York Knickerbockers was injured in today's game against Chicago and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is scar tissue in his shoulder, and he is expected to be out for up to 5-6 weeks. It happened while Houston was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field." In 17 relief appearances this season, Houston has chalked up 5 saves with 25 strikeouts in 27.1 innings, 2-4 won-lost mark and a 5.27 earned run average. |
