Great Day for Underwood -- 5 Hits
Sunday, May 18th , 1975
Bob Underwood was at the head of a New York Knickerbockers hit parade at Knickerbocker Stadium. The 27-year-old went to the plate 6 times and came away with 5 hits, but it was the Chicago Traders that marched off with the 11-8 win.

"We didn't have it today," griped Knickerbockers skipper Timothy Widholm following the game. "Bob did fine, but as a team, we didn't do it with the bats and we didn't do it pitching."

Underwood did more than fine, dominating the Traders at the plate during his record-making 5-for-6 performance.

"Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere," the sweet-swinging right fielder told reporters. "When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats."

Bob Underwood hit a solo-shot off Larry Cox in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and flied out in the 8th.

This season, Underwood is batting .291 with 6 home runs. His totals include 20 RBIs and 25 runs scored.
