Brookins Picked Best Player Monday, May 30th , 1977 It was an extraordinary week for Jim Brookins of the Los Angeles Blockbusters. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .480, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the National Baseball League. Last week Brookins went 12-for-25, racked up 4 home runs and 12 RBIs and scored 8 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Los Angeles right fielder. Posting a .383 batting average to date, Brookins has 20 home runs and 46 RBIs. |
