Downs Has Nagging Injury, Listed DTD Sunday, June 10th , 1962 Cleveland star first baseman Jerry Downs was injured yesterday against Cincinnati while running the bases. He sustained back tightness and is listed on the injury report as day-to-day. The team trainer said Downs will likely not miss too much action, perhaps one week. For the season, Downs is hitting at a .364 clip with no home runs, 5 RBIs and has scored 12 runs. He has 20 hits, 7 walks and a .435 on-base percentage. |
