Player of the Week Trophy to Madsen Monday, July 27th , 1964 Jeff Madsen demonstrated his potential to be a star in the game last week and today he took home the National Baseball League Player of the Week Award. The Chicago center fielder wreaked havoc on opposing pitchers last week, pounding them for a .407 average (11-for-27) with 5 home runs and 10 RBIs on his way to claiming the honor. So far this season Madsen has put up a .246 batting average with 80 hits, 10 home runs and 40 RBIs. |
