Cardenas Stops Pittsburgh Sunday, June 12th , 1977 Goose eggs were the order of the day for the Pittsburgh Industrials as starter Bruce Cardenas shut them out, 3-0, at Allegheny Field. The Cleveland pitcher struck out 1 and walked 2 while allowing 5 hits. "Cardenas was good but he wasn't flawless," Pittsburgh manager Vincent Wicker said. "We had a few opportunities to make something happen and we didn't do it. Not to take anything away from Cleveland, but this is on us." On the season, Cardenas has a 6-5 record with a 2.70 ERA.
