Season Over for Harold Batkin in Boston Sunday, July 27th , 1969 When Harold Batkin was hurt against the Houston Drillers, the Boston Terriers were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 39-year-old second baseman suffered a ruptured foot tendon colliding with a player at a base in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Batkin would miss 4-5 months of the season. During the current season Batkin is batting at a .250 clip with 20 home runs and 51 RBIs. He has played in 73 games and scored 47 times. |
