Seidler Goes Yard 3 Times
Wednesday, June 16th , 1976
Whatever John Seidler ate for breakfast before his game against the Kansas City Bulls, it gave him some impressive power.
The Chicago first baseman smacked three balls up and out of the park at Union Field. His home run barrage helped the Traders defeat the Bulls, 13-4.
"When they throw it in your wheelhouse, you've got a shot at a homer," he told BNN reporters after the game. "I got three shots today and nailed them all."
On his 3-homer day, he went 4-for-4, scored 3 times, drove in 5 and put on a display that history will remember.
John Seidler hit a three-run home run off Dennis Greenlee in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Tom Mitchell in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Tom Mitchell in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
On the year, Seidler is hitting .144 with 28 hits, 8 home runs, 19 RBIs, .221 OBP and has scored 19 runs.
