Reddish Sparkles in 5-0 Shutout
Sunday, September 30th, 1956
Dick Reddish shut out the Washington Rough Riders 5-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Philadelphia Quakers at Quakers Stadium today.

"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Philadelphia skipper Jeff Green said afterward.

Reddish registered 5 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in pitching a gem.

"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Washington manager Patrick Goodman after the defeat.

To date this year, Reddish shows a 16-11 record, 36 starts, 285 innings, 99 strikeouts and a 3.51 ERA.
