Reddish Sparkles in 5-0 Shutout Sunday, September 30th, 1956 Dick Reddish shut out the Washington Rough Riders 5-0 on a 5-hit masterpiece for the Philadelphia Quakers at Quakers Stadium today. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Philadelphia skipper Jeff Green said afterward. Reddish registered 5 strikeouts and issued 2 walks in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Washington manager Patrick Goodman after the defeat.
