Bluebirds Harrison Blanks Rough Riders
Tuesday, April 14th , 1964
Fred Harrison hurled a fine game for the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Flatbush Park today, holding the Washington Rough Riders to 3 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Brooklyn manager John Meeker said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The left-hander had 6 strikeouts and 2 walks in the 2-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Washington manager Dave Caswell said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
