Hotz Booms 3 Homers Wednesday, June 12th , 1974 New York catcher Rick Hotz led the Knickerbockers to a triumph, 15-3, over the Brooklyn Bluebirds, crushing three home runs. "He's scary good when he's swinging the bat like that," said New York skipper Timothy Widholm. Indeed, Hotz put up some "scary good" numbers: three homers, 4 hits in 5 at-bats with 3 runs and 9 RBIs. "I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames," Hotz said. "When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em." Rick Hotz hit a three-run home run off Damon Rutherford in the 1st, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a GRAND SLAM off Tom Keller in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Frank D'Amico in the 9th.
