ABBA Trophy Goes to Tharp of Rochester Monday, September 30th, 1889 Jim Tharp showed his stuff this past week as the veteran rode a hot streak all the way to American Base Ball Assocation Player of the Week honors. The 40-year-old Royals second baseman compiled a .556 average (10-for-18), no home runs and 1 RBIs. For the season Tharp is batting .308 with 81 hits and no home runs. He has scored 49 times and batted in 22. |
