Torre Wins NBL Player of the Week Monday, August 31st , 1964 Danny Torre is respected by most St. Louis Explorers fans for his no-frills style of play. The 32-year-old right fielder went about his business with vigor last week to grab the National Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .429 average (9-for-21) with 3 home runs, 5 RBIs and 5 runs scored. This season Torre has hit at a .238 clip with 67 RBIs, 16 home runs and 56 runs scored. He has played in 129 games. |
