Traders Win, 3-0, as Cox Mystifies St. Louis Monday, June 17th , 1974 Larry Cox kept the St. Louis Explorers hitters from doing much damage at Corps of Discovery Stadium. St. Louis could only muster 4 hits and draw no walks against the right-handed Cox, who controlled them throughout the game. Chicago won the contest, 3-0. Cox added 5 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Cox told reporters after the shutout win. "But whatever it was, I hope it happens again next time." This year, Cox has worked 107.2 innings with 47 strikeouts en route to a 8-3 record and a 2.76 ERA.
