More Injury Problems for Toronto's Jeff McPhearson Monday, August 23rd , 1976 Jeff McPhearson's return to the Toronto Hurons has been delayed. The 28-year-old third baseman has been in treatment for a bruised knee and was responding well until he suffered sharp pains during a light workout. Upon examination by team doctors they reported that there had been further damage and McPhearson will not be back as originally diagnosed. He will now be out at least one week. This year, McPhearson has hit 4 home runs and posted a .233 batting average. |
