Olivas's Treatment Not Going Well, Suffers Setback Tuesday, August 24th , 1976 Benito Olivas is hurting again, just a few days into his treatment for a strained muscle in his back. Apparently the injury worsened, so the Bobcats sent the 28-year-old second baseman back to the doctors for reexamination. Olivas told them that the pain had gotten much worse in recent days. It was confirmed that the injury was indeed much more severe that first thought. He was sent to a specialist, who felt that treatment would be longer than first diagnosed. Olivas will now miss a minimum of one week. To date Olivas has chalked up a .283 average with 6 home runs, driven in 56 runs and scored 63 times. |
