Injury Sidelines Dave Church for Season Friday, September 25th , 1964 When Dave Church was hurt against the Kansas City Bulls, the Milwaukee Dairymen were hopeful that the injury was not serious. However, it proved to be more severe than first thought. The 26-year-old starting pitcher suffered nerve damage in his elbow throwing a pitch in yesterday's game. Team doctors told BNN today that Church would miss 4-5 months of the season. Church has gone 14-11 this season with an ERA of 2.68 and 131 strikeouts in 238 innings pitched. Other clubs are hitting .247 against him. |
