Moreland Celebrates NBL Rookie of Month Award Wednesday, September 1st , 1976 Pitcher Rich Moreland of the Washington Eagles was the premier rookie in the National Baseball League last month and today the league honored him as the Rookie of the Month award winner. In August his record was 2-1 with a 2.73 ERA and 15 strikeouts in 26.1 innings. This year, Moreland has a 7-7 mark in 22 starts with a 3.78 ERA. He has given up 138 hits in 126.1 innings, struck out 64 and issued 48 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .286 batting average against him. |
