Whitlock Must Sit Out 3 Games Saturday, September 4th , 1976 As a result of his tirade and temper tantrum during yesterday's Terriers-Generals game at Atlantic Avenue Grounds, Boston right fielder Jeff Whitlock will get some time off. He was issued a 3-game suspension by the league commissioner. Whitlock was suspended for verbally abusing and physically bumping the home plate umpire after being ejected for arguing over a third strike. Posting a .276 batting average to date, Whitlock has 9 home runs and 53 RBIs. |
