Drillers Sisson Snags ABL Player of the Week Monday, July 29th , 1974 Houston fans have something to crow about today as Houston center fielder Mark Sisson nabbed the American Baseball League Player of the Week Award for his performance over the last seven days. "I know there are times when it's hard to lay off pitches. Everyone goes through stretches when he's too eager to put the ball in play. You know, though, I feel like this past week I was able to get in the right frame of mind and just let things come naturally," said Sisson. He posted a .625 average (10-for-16) this past week with 3 home runs, 9 RBIs, and 9 runs scored. This season in 101 games, Sisson has hit at a .253 clip with 91 hits, 19 home runs, 55 RBIs and 66 runs scored. |
