Pace Tags Packers for 5 Hits Monday, September 6th , 1976 The Brooklyn Bluebirds tripped up the Cincinnati Packers, 11-1. The Bluebirds were led by Rick Pace, their 26-year-old catcher. Pace made life miserable for Cincinnati pitchers all day, tagging them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats. Rick Pace singled in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Kenny Foster in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 8th.
