Baltimore Wins Top Spot in American Baseball League Eastern Division Tuesday, September 21st , 1976 Members of the Baltimore Lords had to fight back tears as they celebrated an American Baseball League Eastern Division championship tonight. "It means so much to a lot of the guys in this room, especially the veterans," said starting pitcher Dan Valenti. "There are guys on this team that know how to win and what it takes and others that are just figuring it out. It's exciting for all of us." The Lords boast a record of 92-65, and the division title is the 5th in team history. Baltimore will be going for its 2nd Major League Baseball championship. |
