The Math Says - Los Angeles Out of Playoffs
Thursday, September 23rd , 1976
Members of the Los Angeles Pobladores are left wondering what could have been today, as the team has been eliminated from postseason contention.
"You look back at a handful of games that easily could have gone the other way for us," said starting pitcher Dave Wynn. "We really think we were good enough to get to the playoffs this year, so it stings."
Los Angeles last appeared in the postseason in 1972. This is their 4th consecutive year missing the playoffs, and in total they have not advanced past the regular season 26 times in their 31-year history. In the last 10 seasons, the Pobladores have only made the playoffs once. Los Angeles last won the World Series in 1957.
