Brooklyn, Houston Agree to Trade Monday, June 23rd , 1975 The Brooklyn Bluebirds announced a deal with the Drillers today, sending 30-year old 3B Bob Rawlins to Houston for 28-year old 3B Wade Fields, 22-year old SS John Huston, and a 2nd round draft pick. It had been talked about for the past few weeks and everything came together late last night. All players are expected to be joining their respective clubs shortly. Thus far this season, Rawlins is hitting .303 with 7 home runs, 39 RBIs and 37 runs scored. He has 71 hits in 234 at-bats and has played in 67 games. In his season totals Fields has 9 home runs and a .274 batting average. |
