Brookins Wins NBL Honor Monday, June 30th , 1975 It was an extraordinary week for Jim Brookins of the Los Angeles Blockbusters. First he goes on a hot hitting streak, batting .485, then he is voted the Player of the Week in the National Baseball League. Last week Brookins went 16-for-33, racked up 4 home runs and 7 RBIs and scored 14 runs. It was a heck of a week for the Los Angeles right fielder. This year, Brookins is hitting at a .314 pace with 15 home runs and 45 RBIs. He has played in 76 games and scored 67 times. |
