San Diego, St. Louis Confirm Deal Monday, February 23rd , 1976 San Diego and St. Louis announced today in a joint press conference that 31-year old LF Randy Barnes and 27-year old SS Tom Row will be going to the Explorers in exchange for 23-year old SS Jorge Escobeda and a 2nd round draft pick. "It'll be exciting to join a new organization," one player said. "Some of us could use a fresh start." The players have each passed physicals and are expected to report by day's end. In his career, Barnes has compiled a .333 batting average and collected 1719 hits, 169 home runs and 826 RBIs. |
