Red-Hot Owen Cools Off Washington
Wednesday, July 2nd , 1975
Bruce Owen was in a mood to talk following the Philadelphia Quakers contest against the Washington Eagles, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Eagles, 8-0.

"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Owen said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."

The right-hander blanked Washington on a 3-hitter, allowing 2 walks and racking up 4 strikeouts.

His record for the year is 7-7 in 16 starts and Owen has a 4.08 ERA.
