Washington Blanked by Zaruba, 7-0
Friday, July 4th , 1975
It was not a good day at the plate for the Washington Eagles. They came up empty when it mattered against Pittsburgh Industrials right-hander Jerry Zaruba, who scattered 7 hits across 9 innings and held the Eagles scoreless.
"We had 7 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Washington manager Brandon Tucker said later.
Zaruba chalked up 5 strikeouts and no walks in the 7-0 Industrials win.
Zaruba has started 17 times this year, pitched 135.1 innings, fanned 71 batters and walked 35. His current record is 13 wins and 3 losses with a 3.33 ERA.
