Jack Forbes Hurt, Out for Year Thursday, July 21st , 1977 Jack Forbes will soon find out from his doctors if his season will continue. The first diagnosis was not too positive and indicated the New York starting pitcher could miss the remainder of the year. Forbes was injured while throwing a pitch in the Knickerbockers-Burros clash at Knickerbocker Stadium recently. Doctors said he has a torn ligament in his elbow and would be out a minimum of 8-9 months. Forbes has made 19 starts this season, posting 4 wins and 4 losses. Opposing clubs are batting .315 against him and he has 37 strikeouts in 98.2 innings with a 4.01 ERA. |
