Wright Sends Toronto Bats to Deep Freeze
Friday, September 8th , 1967
Reggie Wright was in a zone of his own most of the day, shutting out the Toronto Hurons on 5 hits.
"He was too darn good for us today," grumbled Toronto manager Jim Burns after the 5-0 loss to the San Francisco Seagulls.
Wright finished with 11 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
In the postgame press conference, San Francisco manager Al Borie said Wright "had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. He just pitched his butt off."
Wright has made 28 starts, tossed 225.1 innings, struck out 109 batters and walked 67. His record is 15-8 with a 2.12 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .203 batting average.
