Philadelphia, Cleveland Agree to Swap Thursday, July 31st , 1975 The Quakers have reached a deal with Cleveland, sending 32-year old RHP Bill Smith to the Bobcats in exchange for a 1st round draft pick. Reports had been hinting at a deal in recent days, but weren't confirmed until this afternoon. This year, Smith has chalked up a 4.71 ERA with 2 saves. In 23 relief appearances he has put up a 1-6 won-lost mark and struck out 20 batters in 28.2 innings. |
