Generals Ovitt July's Top Hurler Friday, August 1st , 1975 The American Baseball League scribes have announced July's Pitcher of the Month and have given the award to Gary Ovitt of Atlanta. He was one tough cookie on the mound last month with a fine 4-0 mark to prove it. The Atlanta star made 7 starts with a 1.93 ERA and surrendered 46 hits in 56 innings. He struck out 21 and walked 13. This year, Ovitt has posted a record of 11 wins and 9 losses with a 2.40 ERA. He has appeared in 24 games and struck out 83 in 187.1 innings. |
