Ed Hudson Wallops 3 Homers for Habitants Tuesday, August 9th , 1977 Anyone wearing a glove and sitting in the bleachers for today's Habitants-Northmen game had a good chance at snagging a home run ball. Montreal third baseman Ed Hudson thrice sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir, helping lead the Montreal to a win, 14-3, over Twin Cities. "Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub," Hudson said later. "I'm not going out there thinking I need another home run." Hudson, who leads the ABL in extra base hits with 65, was 3-for-4 on the day with 4 RBI. Ed Hudson walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Syed Farooqi in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Edgar Trask in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Edgar Trask in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th. Hudson is hitting .350 so far this season with 89 RBIs and 83 runs scored. He has 146 hits including 36 home runs, 63 walks and .439 OBP. |
