Industrials Blanked by Quade, 4-0
Saturday, September 23rd , 1967
"Good pitching beats good hitting" is an old baseball adage.

Well, good pitching also beats bad hitting.

Joe Quade of the Cincinnati Packers proved the point at Allegheny Field today, holding the Pittsburgh Industrials to 5 hits in a complete game shutout victory.

"Quade made us look real bad today," Industrials manager Vincent Wicker said in a postgame interview. "He was outstanding. He was down in the zone with all his pitches. Everything was sinking."

Quade had 3 strikeouts and gave up 1 walk as the Packers took the 4-0 win.

In the current season in 26 starts, Joe Quade has a record of 9-13 with 112 strikeouts in 197.1 innings and a 3.10 ERA.
