NBL Trophy Goes to Carr of Denver Monday, August 22nd , 1977 Not every ball that came off Chuck Carr's bat last week was a line drive or a towering shot -- it just seemed that way to the teams that played the Denver Burros. For his exploits, Carr was named this week's National Baseball League Player of the Week award. The Denver shortstop put up 14 hits in 24 at-bats and 4 home runs while hitting .583 with 10 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This year, Carr has hit at a .261 clip with 120 hits, 11 home runs, 46 RBIs and 51 runs scored. |
