ABL Names Best Player Monday, August 11th , 1975 Rick Lintner is respected by most New York Empires fans for his no-frills style of play. The 26-year-old third baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the American Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .379 average (11-for-29) with 4 home runs, 10 RBIs and 7 runs scored. This season, Lintner has hit at a .310 clip with 58 RBIs, 26 home runs and 51 runs scored.
