Jarry Crafts 8-0 Shutout Versus Cincinnati
Sunday, July 29th , 1973
Philadelphia Quakers starter Arnold Jarry really did a number on the Cincinnati Packers, shutting them out, 8-0, on 5 hits in a complete game victory. He issued 1 walk and had 3 strikeouts.
"We didn't have good at-bats," said Cincinnati manager Martin Abresch. "I don't make excuses, but when we were playing the game, our energy didn't show. That comes from either extremely good pitching or extremely lousy hitting and seeing as our team has a bunch of good hitters, I have to tip my cap to Jarry."
This season, Jarry has compiled a 8-11 record with a 3.59 ERA.
