Briggs Crafts 3-0 Shutout Versus Los Angeles Sunday, August 28th , 1977 The Los Angeles Blockbusters were almost helpless in their 3-0 loss to the Pittsburgh Industrials and hurler Bob Briggs. Briggs kept the Blockbusters confused all game, spinning a 7-hit shutout. "Tip your hat to Briggs," Los Angeles manager John Trausch said in a postgame interview. "He kept us off balance all night." The 27-year-old left-hander had 2 walks and 5 strikeouts in a strong performance. "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play," Briggs said.
