August's Best NBL Hitter is Al Proctor Thursday, September 1st , 1977 Philadelphia Quakers fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in August. Al Proctor put up a remarkable month at the age of 25 and has been named the National Baseball League Batter of the Month. For the month, Proctor hit .389 with 9 home runs, 18 RBIs and 23 runs scored. To date Proctor has chalked up a .287 average with 26 home runs, driven in 72 runs and scored 84 times. |
