Friday, August 15th , 1975
Magic was in the air and on the mound at Lakefront Stadium, as Roger Scherf held the Philadelphia Quakers spellbound in his 3-0 shutout victory. The Cleveland Bobcats pitcher went the distance, rang up 4 strikeouts, walked 1, and held the Quakers to 8 hits.

"He just had us in his thrall," Philadelphia manager Jeff Green said. "We couldn't put anything together against him."

This season, Scherf has a 6-8 mark in 21 starts with a 3.36 ERA. He has given up 137 hits in 128.2 innings, struck out 67 and issued 55 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .278 batting average against him.
