Star of the Week Awarded in NBL Monday, August 18th , 1975 When it came to hitting the baseball, Francisco Chavez was in a class by himself in the National Baseball League this past week. Nobody did it better. The outstanding first baseman for New York tagged opposing pitchers for a .458 average and was voted the Player of the Week Award. Included in his stats were 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 homers, 9 runs scored and 12 RBIs. To date, Chavez has collected 124 hits for a .271 average. He has posted 15 home runs, scored 67 runs and driven in 74 runs. |
