Arnold Shackles Washington Sunday, August 12th , 1973 Marty Arnold kept the Washington Eagles hitters from doing much damage at Monument Field. Washington could only muster 7 hits and draw no walks against the right-handed Arnold, who controlled them throughout the game. Chicago won the contest, 9-0. Arnold added 6 strikeouts in his complete-game effort. "I don't know if I was on or if they were off today," Arnold told reporters after the shutout win.
