Castillo Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, September 15th , 1977 It takes more than one player to win a baseball game - as proven by Manuel Castillo of the Los Angeles Pobladores. The Los Angeles second baseman gave it his all and dominated San Francisco Seagulls pitching at San Vicente Park, finishing with a great 5-for-5 line. However, when the game ended, the scoreboard showed the Seagulls going home the winner, 6-2. "There's no point gloating about a 5-hit day in a loss," Castillo said. "A loss just means you should have done more. Maybe I should have hit 5 home runs instead." Manuel Castillo singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. So far this year, Castillo is batting .338 with 36 home runs and 99 RBIs.
