Howard Wins ABL Best Player Award Monday, September 8th , 1975 What's in a number? In baseball, just about everything. The numbers that Dallas's Dick Howard put up last week were the envy of the league, as Howard came away with American Baseball League Player of the Week honors. He belted out 10 hits in 27 at-bats, 5 home runs and 11 RBIs last week as he posted his .370 batting average. This year, Howard has socked 132 hits in 504 at-bats for a .262 average with 14 home runs. He is getting on base at a .420 pace and his totals also include 54 RBIs and 108 runs scored. |
