Philadelphia Out of Playoff Race
Wednesday, September 10th , 1975
The Philadelphia Quakers were stuck in the middle this season -- not competitive enough in the playoff chase to be considered relevant, but not far enough behind to be completely written off. Until now, that is -- today, the Quakers were mathematically eliminated from playoff contention.
Before this season, the Quakers last missed the playoffs in 1973. In the 91 years they have been a Major League Baseball franchise, they have missed the playoffs 69 times. In the last 10 seasons, the Quakers have made the playoffs 3 times. Philadelphia has won the World Series 11 times in their history.
