St. Louis Wins Divisional Round
Sunday, October 2nd , 1977
Freddie Boone has led his St. Louis Explorers to a Divisional Round victory.

St. Louis's first baseman was named series MVP after playing an instrumental role in winning the series 4-1 and eliminating the Chicago Traders.

"See the ball, hit the ball," he said. "It's simple what I did this series."

The club advanced to the League Championship Series with a 7-0 triumph at Corps of Discovery Stadium in the deciding game.

Boone was red hot in the series, which saw him put up a .421 average, as well as 2 home runs and 4 RBI.

The St. Louis Explorers don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Kansas City Bulls - Pittsburgh Industrials series. Kansas City leads the series 3 games to 2. The League Championship Series schedule will be announced after the Divisional Round finishes.
