St. Louis No Match for Heath
Friday, October 21st , 1977
Ray Heath was in a mood to talk following the San Francisco Seagulls contest against the St. Louis Explorers, expounding to BNN reporters on his pitching philosophy. He had good reason to be excitable, having tossed a complete game shutout of the Explorers, 5-0.
"There are three important elements in pitching success: location, location, and location," Heath said. "I was hitting my spots time and time again."
The right-hander blanked St. Louis on a 4-hitter, allowing no walks and racking up 2 strikeouts.
So far this season, Heath has a record of 10-11 with 156 strikeouts and 54 walks in 214.1 innings and a 2.65 ERA.
